Rocky Mountain School District and Alexander Park School support learning that is place-based and focused on environmental stewardship. We endeavour to honour the land by strengthening our relationship and responsibilities to it. I acknowledge, with gratitude, that this beautiful place where we live, work, and play is the traditional territory of the Secwepemc and the Ktunaxa people, and a crossover territory of many Indigenous groups. We also have more than 200 years of Métis history in Golden, and our area is home to the Métis Nation Columbia River community.
It is a joy and privilege to live in Golden and work at Alexander Park. I greet you with our school's vision: Welcome to Alexander Park School where we discover our world through inclusive, progressive practices in a respectful and caring environment.
Every day the team at Alexander Park strives to move closer to realizing this vision. We believe and teach five foundational values which support our vision.
- Everyone Belongs: we are stronger because we are unique
- We are considerate of ourselves, others, and the land
- We own our mistakes and fix them
- Every moment is an opportunity for growth
- We celebrate the joy in every day with gratitude
- Every Child Matters: We work towards Reconciliation
As the school principal, it is my job is to help students, their families, and the school staff meet our shared aspirations for children in ways that honour ourselves, our school’s vision and values, our district’s vision and directions, and our province's mandate and curriculum. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or if you are interested in learning more about our vision, values, or school plan for student success.
